We left from Viantiane to Vang Vieng at 11 AM. We stop for lunch time at a small town.
Sorry that I could not remember the name.We had Som tum, Larb and sticky rice for sure..
then we continued to Vang Vieng. The road condition was not so good, But it could be compensated with the beautiful scenery outside the window.
We arrived at Vang Vieng at 14.30 then we went for check into the hotel which took a bit of time. The weather was not cold as I expected..what to do, i only bring the jacket, sweater and scarf!!...haha..kidding la yeah it's not cold at all.
We got a very lovely bungalow with air-con, hot shower (never work) and riverside view...hmmm......Vang Vieng is alongside the Nam Song River which winds its way through a dramatic limestone mountain range...
it's located 160 km north of Viantiane and 180 km south of Luang Prabang.
You can find many guesthouse here, it's cost from 4 USD up to 50 USD. We stay on the middle range at USD 20.
I and Moo tried to practice our bicycle skill, however, it went well...no complained (but after...hahahaa).
Then we start exploring to the small villages near by our guesthouse. Many people said that Vang Vieng is similar to Pai in Maehongsorn, but I have no idea cos never been in Pai before....well, I like it here...mountain view with the river and fresh air....
A lot of farang people and Thais visited at this time. There're a lot of activities that you can do here. You can go for kayaking, tubing, swimming, cycling and chil out with yr friends in the cozy bars. We were cycling round and round...til found the restuaruant for dinner. We didn't do much, only cyclilng cos no time and we were exhausted.
Before dinner time, I and Moo crossed the bridge to visit the small village. They have charged us 6,000 Kiep per person for using their bridge...why not! i can't swim with a bicycle even without, so no choice...hey, how much for 6,000 kiep in THB..think! think!
We saw the children were swiming in the river and throwing a sandball to each other. It's look quite fun actually.
Sandball
On our way to the guesthouse, we stop at the silk shop. Moo got a red scarf for herself and I got a colorful one also
It's peaceful and natural and very relaxing. Unfortunately, I stayed in Vang Vieng only one night. There're many places that I didn't visit this time such as cave and Laos organic farm. In Vang Vieng, they have a lot of pizza shop and European food. I felt like I was standing in Khao Sarn Rd!! We had a pancake with banana. IT's cost 10,000 kiep...think think! how much?
For dinner time, we picked the restaurant which run by Laos owner because the restaurant in our guesthouse was full booking...great!!Anyway, there're lot of places to eat in vang vieng. You can find easily. The environment was great and the food was delicious. We ordered 2 phor noodle,2 Larb, 2 somtum, 2 spaketti....
